摘要:The electrochemical reduction of nitrate to ammonia represents a promising approach for simultaneously eliminating nitrate from wastewater and converting waste (nitrate) into a valuable resource (ammonia). By employing copper foam (CF) as the substrate, a two-stage 3D porous irregular copper nanorod electrode was fabricated through wet chemical oxidation and electrochemical in-situ reconstruction. The composition and structure of the prepared electrode were analyzed using SEM, XPS, AES, and XRD. The irregular nanorods, with a size range of 50 nm ? 500 nm, intersected with one another and possessed a rich porous structure, which could offer a large surface area and an adequate number of accessible active centers for nitrate adsorption and electrochemical reduction. Utilizing a test solution containing 50 mg/L of NO3--N and 0.05 mol/L of Na2SO4, the fabricated 3D porous irregular nanorod electrode attained a high nitrate conversion rate (95.8 %) and a high NH3-N selectivity (98.4 %) at a cathode potential of 1.8 V after a 5-hour reaction. Moreover, six cycle tests verified the long-term stability of the prepared two-stage 3D porous irregular nanorod electrode. In the long-term continuous flow tests lasting for 576 h, the prepared two-stage 3D porous irregular nanorod electrode also exhibited a high nitrate conversion (95.4 %) and a high NH3-N selectivity (98.0 %), further confirming its stability.
